Japan
Japan is a democracy in north Asia and has a
population of over 120 million. It represents the second
largest economy in the world. Most stocks are traded on
the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) and
are best represented by the Nikkei225 Index. Japan is home to
some of the world's largest industrial giants, consumer companies, and financial
institutions.
The Japanese currency, the yen, is free floating
and one of the most traded currencies in the world.
Yen exchange rates can be volatile as traders borrow yen at
low rates and invest in other currencies with higher returns.
